#Summary : How to download and install a new Livechart packs or update

This sequence presumes that your computer is connected to the internet so files can be directly downloaded. If the computer is not on the internet, then simply download files on to a memory stick and take to the target computer and copy across.

Steps are:

• Download CD files
• Unzip download CD files
• Use unlock program (part of the download) to unlock the charts using unlock codes
  

Note:
If you are upgrading a pack then follow the same procedure, but you may want to remove the old charts first. You can use the chart removal utility tool to remove ALL previous Livecharts.

Important - This does remove all Livecharts accept the default ones, so don't use if not updating all chart packs that you need.

If you have also purchased a seaPro upgrade then complete the seaPro upgrade first (see TN064).

Step 1 Download

Download the appropriate 'CD' from here (do not open, but save the file)

The required CD's (1,2,3,4, etc) will be shown on your unlock codes (emailed to you).

Its recommended to save to the Download folder (default location)

Step 2 Unzip the download

Use Windows file explorer to browse to the download folder and then unzip the file.

For example right click on the downloaded file (for example file CD1_program.zip) and click 'unzip to here', or as per your unzip facility for example.

You will now see the unzipped folder. For example CD1_program

The unzipped folder will be seen for example CD1_program

Step 3 Install charts

Use Windows file explorer to browse to the unzipped folder and into the unlock folder and run the unlock.exe program

Note: You may need to right click on the unlock.exe and select 'Run as Administrator' .
Enter the supplied unlock codes, and press the unlock button to the right.

The codes are not case sensitive.

Important:
Make sure you enter the Chart name as well as the 4 code sets. These are are all on the unlock codes emailed to you.

You will see the progress in the status window below - this may take some time with larger chart packs.

Repeat for any other unlock codes for this CD download file
Repeat for any other unlock codes using a different CD download files.
Start seaPro - You will be prompted to rebuild your chart folio.

Backing up

In addition to your normal regular computer back ups, you should place a backup copy of the chart folder on to to a memory stick etc. The default location is c:\charts
The backup can be used to easily install the charts on another machine by copying the folder 'charts' across and rebuilding the Charts folio.

Keep the original downloads safe and the unlock codes in case you ever need to do a complete re-install. The codes, downloads and unlock codes can't be re-issued once they are no longer the current version.

Trouble shooting

Check that you have entered the correct Chart pack name (5th box)
Check that the downloaded CD is the one specified on the unlock codes, check both the version and the CD number.

The codes are specific to the dongle and to the downloaded CD version.
