#TN076 seaPro runs slowly or out of Memory error occurs when using AIS

In some harbour, VTS and other control areas, large numbers of AIS messages are now being sent. If an AIS receive only device is being used then there is no filtering of these messages based on a vessels MMSI number- So the AIS message database can increase rapidly in size causing seaPro to slow or show an out of memory message.

Solution for version 11.190 and above

In seaPro plus and above:
The AIS message database can be reset using the message viewer (AIS toolbar AIS Vessel list) and the AIS.
The message list can optionally be reset on the daily AIS log change via the option on the AIS settings Log tab

seaPro standard and lite
The AIS message database is reset on starting

Solution for For seaPro 10.x and earlier (now out of maintenance)

You can manually delete the AIS message database file:
Exit seaPro and delete the file
C:\Euronav\seaPro3000\UAIS\Database\AISMessagesTxt.xml

Or the equivalent path if you have not used the default installation location

The file is re-created on restarting seaPro

Note:
If running seaPro continuously for very long periods of time you may need to exit seaPro to reset the file.
