 #Summary

seaPro appears not to be saving settings such as serial ports or the choice of power or sail etc

This can occur if the operating system has restricted access to the seaPro installation folder, this can occur on a Windows update or if access/security settings have been changed. If seaPro has been installed into the programs folder its access may be severely restricted, especially if using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

How to resolve:

If seaPro is NOT installed in the Program files folder
You are either not running with administrative privileges – logout and log on using an administrators account.
Note: If you are only allowed to use a User account due to company restrictions - please contact your system administrator.

Or

The read only flag has been set on the Euronav folder. Right click on the Euronav folder and then properties, un tick the read only box, press apply/Ok , and choose option to alter all sub folders etc.

If seaPro has been installed in the Windows Programs folder
If installed into 'Program Files or on 64 bit systems 'Program Files (x86)' folder, then access to applications may be severely restricted. seaPro needs to be re-installed into a less restictive folder such as the seaPro installation default of c:\Euronav

Un install and run the seaPro resetfolders.exe utility
This can be found in the utility folder of the seaPro CD or can be downloaded from
http://www.euronav.co.uk/Downloads/ResetEuronavRegistry/update.htm

Un-tick the two ticked  boxes and tick Reset Installation for seaPro products.

reset folders

Re-install seaPro using the default install folder (C:\Euronav\.....)

If none of the above works
You will need to check the specific security settings in use for the folder/drive - if you are not sure on how to do this please contact your system administrator.

Note:
On some very early versions of Windows 7 the problem has been traced to a corrupt Operating system installation. A re-install of Windows has resolved the problem. Make sure your operating system has all the latest downloads installed.
