    XP Service Pack 2

Problem

A number of problems have been reported with seaPro and Windows service Pack 2. You may also experience other problems not related to seaPro with service Pack 2 - Please visit the Microsoft site for further information (links at bottom of page).

The problems arise due to XP service pack 2 (SP2) not installing correctly or not having suitable driver/BIOS updates - none are due to seaPro!

The problem is usually discovered when building a folio, or trying to select a file, such a Route->select. The program will either exit without warning or indicate problem before exiting

You will need to do one or all of the following

Note: The following may work for versions earlier that 4.1x, however no tech support is available for these versions

 1. System updates

Makes sure that you have all the latest driver and BIOS updates for your computer installed that are required for it to work with SP 2

This is known to be a definite  problem with Toshiba laptops.

You may also wish to download the latest version on seaPro (not lite) you must have 4.1x or later already installed

3. Admin rights
Check that you do have Administrator permission when running your system and seaPro has such permission when running.

Note: This is normally the case for most windows installation outside corporate settings.

4. XP settings

If the above does not resolve the problem then:

Right click on 'My computer' and select properties (or control panel ->System)

Click the advanced Tab. Under first option 'Performance' click settings
Select the 'Data execution Prevention Tab'
Select second option 'Turn on DEP for all programs.....'
Select ADD and navigate and select the seaPro2000.exe
Press OK - you may need to re-boot windows.

seaPro should now operate correctly.

You can usually reverse (4) and seaPro will operate normally.
